My sincerest condolences to the family. I met Claude in the early 1980s when I was a Management Trainee with First & Merchants National Bank. I was in constant communications with him because of auto loans. We developed a telephone relationship of him imparting knowledge and me absorbing like a sponge. When we finally met in person, I found him to be as kind as I perceived him to be on the phone. While I thought of him as a wealth of knowledge, he probably thought of me as a thorn in his side. If caller-id had been prevalent then, he might not have answered 50% of my calls. Regardless, I appreciated Claude's patience and time in explaining intricacies of auto loans. I hope his almost 91-years were as kind to him as he was to me.

You were a faithful friend of mine and my Uncle Bruce Underwood, who passed away this year also. Just to let your family know I appreciate the work you did for your classmates at VHS and with me. Love to your family, John Underwood --- Class of 1958
