Paul, Cathy and family. We all know that we have to face the grim realities of life and death. But that doesn't make it any easier when it happens. Try not to grieve the loss but remember all of the good times. You have our most sincere condolences. Tom and Sharon.

We are truly sorry for your loss. My family and I would like to extend our condolences and share a hope from the Holy Scriptures. Jehovah God promises through his son, Jesus Christ, that "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs (graves) will hear his voice and come out" (John 5:28, 29). Please have faith in God who can not lie and cares so much about your loved ones and you. Please also read Psalm 34:18 and 1Peter 5:6, 7. And may you have peace.

Paul Daniel Duers, 86, of Meherrin, Va. and formerly of New Jersey and Florida joined his family in heaven on Jan. 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Iris Brower Duers and parents Stanley and Anne Duers. He is survived by his son, Paul Duers (Cathy) of Meherrin and their children; Kaitlin Duers, Trevor Duers, Megan Duers, and Shane Duers; their grandson, Richard Iarrobino and son Mark Duers (Gina) of New Jersey; and their son Ryan Duers Mr. Duers was a retired Supervisor/Draftsman for ATT Long Lines. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Catholic Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meherrin, Va. with burial in the Church Cemetery.
