    Veteran Grave Marker Form

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. The VA may also furnish a headstone or marker for graves that are marked with a private headstone or marker, for veterans that died on or after November 1, 1990.

A marked grave is defined as a grave with a privately purchased headstone that displays the name of the veteran and dates of birth and death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to submit a claim for either a traditional headstone or marker, or the new medallion.

When burial or memorialization is in a national cemetery, state veterans' cemetery, or military post/base cemetery, a headstone or marker will be ordered by the cemetery officials based on inscription information provided by the next of kin or authorized representative.

Spouses and dependents are not eligible for a Government-furnished headstone or marker unless they are buried in a national cemetery, state veterans' cemetery, or military post/base cemetery.

    FAQ

What do I need to know before ordering a stone?

There are many factors you need to consider when ordering a marker. Of course like most items, you will be looking for the best price. We're
proud to offer the best prices in the area along with professional service that you can count on.  You need to also know the requirements for the cemetery
in which you plan to install the stone.  Every cemetery is different and if installed or ordered incorrectly, you can be forced to remove it.  We work very
closely with most of the cemeteries in the area and have done so for over 100 years, so we can ensure that when you order your stone from us it will be
designed and ordered to comply with the requirements.  Other factors are the material and size which both play a role in the price and beauty of each
individual stone.  Some materials tend to fade and discolor over time while others hold up to the weather somewhat better. There are many choices such
as polished, rough cut, granite, marble, bronze, laser etched, slant etc.

    Where can I view samples?

We always encourage you to visit a cemetery locally as you will find many different types of stones. If you find one that you like, we can match it
exactly or we can take the design from one stone, and place that design on another style. The options are endless and by narrowing your choices down
to an approximate size, shape, color etc will help you in making a decision.  Of course we can start from scratch if you prefer and create a completely custom
    stone.

What can I put on the stone?
You can put just about anything you'd like on a stone however the size and shape of the stone can limit your choices of options. We can have
custom logos, animals, cars, trains, tractors, symbols, scriptures, verses and many other custom items added to the stone. We have various accessories
such as vases, pedestals, corner markers etc that you can add to your stone and lot.  You can have a family stone, spouse and/or single markers to place
on your lot and we can customize any style, color and material stone.

Who will install my stone or accessories?
We work with a dedicated installer who we have worked with for years and they always do an outstanding job with every intall.  Before the installer
considers the job complete, we inspect every stone personally.
