Janie Catherine Bishop Ali, 80, April 8, 1939 - November 9, 2019.  Janie graduated from Medical College of Virginia with a BS in nursing. She was married to the love of her life Jafar Ahmad Ali for 45 years until his death.

Janie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed dearly.

Her love for her children and grandchildren is only surpassed by her love for the Lord. Her love was truly our blessing.

She is survived by her five children, Catherine Ali Stone ( George) Lea Ali Edmondson (Mark), Ahmad Ali, Miriam Ali DiMond (Mitch) and BJ Ali. Her seven grandchildren Jafar Hardy Stone, Gatley Stone, Connerly Stone, Samuel Edmondson, Amelia Grace Ali, Abigail Ali, Mitchell DiMond. Also survived by sister Rosa Lee Yancey (Carson), nieces Ginger Yancey Phelps (Joe) and Jean Yancey Mosher (Kelby) and great niece Kenlee and great nephews Paul and Dale.

After the passing of her husband, she returned to live where she grew up on her beloved family farm in Kenbridge, Va.

Janie lived and loved a beautiful life living each day to the fullest…“Janie’s Way”. She loved caring for people and being a nurse which is exemplified in her role for 58 years. Her most recent nurse role was for the children of Lunenburg County Schools where she worked at the time of her passing.

She loved her communities of Kenbridge, Raleigh and El-Bireh. It was her joy to love and support each of the places she called home.

She will be honored and celebrated at Kenbridge United Methodist Church on Saturday November 30, 2019 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Kenbridge United Methodist Church.
