Michael Macwelch, Sr., 88, of Kenbridge, Va., crossed the bridge to heaven on Dec. 4, 2020. His wife of 34 years, Sheila Andrews Macwelch was by his side as he departed. He was born Feb. 26, 1932 in Seat Pleasant, MD, one of six children born to the late John and Patty Macwelch. His brothers, Freddie Macwelch, Aubrey Rollins Macwelch and Glen Royce “Pete” Macwelch preceded him in death.  His family lived in Fauquier County (Warrenton, Va) for most of his childhood. He served in the 187^th Airborne “Rakkasans” in the Koren War 1950-1953 as a paratrooper. After the war he was an

iron worker in the Washington DC area. In 1980 he moved to Kenbridge, Va to live the peaceful life.

In addition to his wife, left to cherish his memory is his sister, Debbie Thompson of Payson, Utah;
 

his brother, Richard Patrick “Pat” Macwelch, and his wife Evelyn of Warrenton, Va.;
 

a son, Michael Macwelch, Jr. and his children, Dylan Macwelch and Lucas Manning all of Matthews, Va;

a daughter, Sandie Macwelch and her son Joseph Michael Confrey of Lanham, MD;

a son, Terry Macwelch of Crownsville, MD;

a son, Billy Andrews and his wife Cecilia and their children, Nathan Andrews, Hailey Andrews, Alex Andrews and Kevin Andrews all of Crewe, VA;

Michael was also preceded in death by daughter Robin L. Gilmer he is survived by her children, Pepsi Pearson, Brandy Gilmer, Jeremy Gilmer and Caleb Gilmer; her grandchildren, Tylier Collier, Britney Comer, Brooke Comer, Dylan Pearson and Madison Pearson and her great-grandson Lucca Collier;

a daughter, Michele Macwelch and her son Christopher Hull.
