    The Tuck family were our neighbors in Victoria many years ago. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family.

    So sorry to hear this news.Mr. Tuck coached me in "pony league" and I loved him he was a great man.

    Walter Douglas Tuck of Galax, Virginia went to his eternal home on October 18, 2022 at the age of 93 years old.  Walter was born on November 3, 1928 in Halifax County, Virginia (Clover).  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Veedis Lucille Tuck of the home; three daughters, Deborah Wyatt, (J.R.) of Ballground, GA, Dianne Frye (Joe) of Shady Springs, WV, and Debbie Yates (Steve) of Wytheville, VA; four sons, Doug Tuck, Jr. (Pat) of Austinville, VA, Roger Conner (Debi) of Fries, VA, Donald Tuck (Kathy) of Navarre, FL, and David Tuck (Carol) of Greenville, NC; sisters, Francis McCauley and Mattie Mildred Tear both Mebane, NC, Thelma Smith of Burlington, NC, and Mary Alice Hicks of Oxford, NC; and brother, Jimmy Tuck (Sara) of Graham, NC.  Walter also leaves behind twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.  
     
    He was preceded in death by his parents, P.C. Tuck and Belle Dunkley Tuck and three brothers, William “Red” Tuck, J.D. Tuck, and Percy Carlton Tuck all of Mebane, NC.
     
    Walter attended North Carolina State University and was one of their biggest fans.  He was a huge Washington National fan and watched every single game of their season on TV in his later years.  He spent over 40 years working in the furniture industry as a supervisor.  He was a talented woodworker, gardener and an avid fisherman and hunter.  Walter coached Dixie Youth Baseball in the 1960’s in Lunenburg County, VA and was honored at halftime at a Lunenburg Chargers Football Game in the 1960’s for his time spent coaching youth sports in Victoria, VA.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  
     
    A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Donations in Walter’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.  The entire family would like to thank you for your kindness and prayers during this difficult time.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
