    June Yeatts Rainey

    10/27/49 – 11/14/20

June Rainey, 71, of Brodnax, VA passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday Nov 14, 2020.

She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, Nana, “Nana Nana”, cousin, and friend to everyone. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Terry “Brownie” Yeatts and Dorothy. And her husband of 40 years, Lee, just 13 months prior.June is survived by her four children, her daughters, Lisa Edwards (Andy) of Toney, AL, Terry Johnson (AJ) of Shreveport, LA.  And her sons, Billy Farck (Holly) of Harriman, TN, and Chris Rainey of Brodnax, VA.  And never to be forgotten, her most beloved companion and fur baby, Chewie. First and foremost, June loved the Lord.  The last words she spoke were in a conversation with Jesus.

June loved her family dearly.  She truly loved being “Nana” to her 9 grandchildren and “Nana Nana” to her great grands, Emmie and Tricky. She leaves behind her two Sisters, Janet Peebles and Susan Biddle (Ronnie) that she shared the gift of musical ministry to give others the opportunity to know the Glory of God’s Love.  There is no possible way to list all her nieces, nephews, cousins, and dozens of loved ones she has had throughout her lifetime. She was the pillar of strength, grace, and dignity.  She always led by example and practiced what she preached.  She quite possibly had a direct line to Jesus…. June was a nurse for over 30 years and during that time, she never met a stranger treating each patient as if they were family.  Again, always sharing the gift of prayer and love for the Lord.  She is smiling down on us today as we remember how very precious she was to each and everyone of us.  She will be terribly missed and not a day will go by that her gifts of love will go unnoticed in our everyday lives…In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations or gifts be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital in June’s name. Services will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 at 2PM in the New Life Church, 106 North Main Street, Blackstone, Virginia.
